Well, we made it! I am settled in Seattle and overall things are going well. We are loving having our own house and have many projects to do! One of the first ones is the yard. The people who lived here before us, according to the neighbors, didn't do anything with the yard; they didn't even mow the lawn! Hence, it was a dead field of tall grass and dandelions everywhere. We have made great progress on the front yard so far. Here is a before picture showing Scott about to plant our first plant, a Sumac:
So after mowing, seeding, watering, pulling, mulching, and digging, digging, digging, here is what it looks like today:
Still have quite a bit to do in the front, but coming along nicely. The backyard is a whole other story, however, and that will probably take us a few years to iron out. Anyway, I will post more pictures of the inside of our house soon!
Love you all!

Wow. How much time from pic 1 to pic 2. That is an amazing difference. While yardwork isn't free, it's fulfilling how much difference you can make with lots of hard work and less money relative to other projects. Awesome. Can't wait to see more.
ReplyDeleteI can see that the neighbors would be thrilled. Your place would have gone from the worst place on the block to the best. That is really exciting. I really enjoyed the picture and love the change. Keep it up.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, how old is the picture of the dog?
ReplyDeleteLooking great!!! I can't wait to see the area next to the front door :) Keep it up. You are right... it does take years!
ReplyDeleteYay, pics! What a change! Even the grass is greener than when you guys got there. You guys are fantastic landscapers.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a difference! It looks amazing!!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!
ReplyDeleteSusan: that picture of Sage is quite old, probably from April or May. I will post some current ones of her for you soon!
